Design Engineering

Brush Traction's Engineering objective, is to produce cost effective, efficient, reliable designs for both new and existing locomotives and rolling stock.

The Engineering department combines the experience gained over many years with the latest advances in technology to produce successful solutions to a variety of problems.

A number of tried and tested solutions can now be seen in regular service where it matters, day in and day out, on the Railway.

Brush Traction's capability includes the use of finite element modelling and 2D and 3D computer aided design with solid modelling. Electrical schematic capture & circuit simulation can also be witnessed as part of Brush Traction's capability.

The above enables the generation of a high level of confidence in the accuracy of design solutions both in a steady state and dynamically.
